It has a crystal, blue – green and turquoise water that really makes it look like an exotic beach. It also has enchanting white sand and at many points pink sand which is a result of millions of wonderful, small, broken corals. The sea has shallow water and usually, no waves so is fully appropriate for families with children. On the other hand at some points the sea is rocky and there the water is quite deep.
Mpalos is not an organized beach but there, you will find a small canteen in order to buy cold water, beverages, coffees and delicious, fresh snacks. There are also some umbrellas in order to be protected from the sun. Another detail you should know is that Mpalos is a nudism friendly beach. The place does not offer the opportunity for water sports but, at the points where the water is deeper and the sea bed is rocky, you will have the option to swim with a mask and explore the wild and unique beauty of its sea bed.
You also have to know that the place does not offer accommodation facilities and the camping is forbidden.
It is worth mentioning that Mpalos has been integrated into the ecological Natura 2000 network as a protected area, because of its rare fauna and flora. In the area, there is also a shelter of Caretta – Caretta turtle and the Mediterranean seal.
