Aradena Sfakion: A village built on the edge of a cliff

Aradena is one of the most beautiful villages of Sfakia with few inhabitants now, which resists time, guarding the wild natural beauties of the area.

It is one of the most beautiful villages of Chania, built on the edge of a cliff, at an altitude of 138 meters. Aradena is located 3 km west of the village of Anopolis and impresses the visitor.

There is the Byzantine church of the Archangel Michael, of the 14th century and a legendary gorge painted with the blood of the defenders of the Cretan land.

A seven kilometers path separates the abandoned stone village of Aradena Sfakion from the endless pebble beach Marmara with the turquoise water,, reminiscent of a Cycladic landscape.
