Stomio beach belongs to the prfecture of Chania and is one of the most isolated beaches of the area. It is located at a distance of 65 away from the city center and the access is simple.
The amazing beach of Stomio which took its name from the homonymous settlement has a coast with thick sand, beautiful pebbles in various colors and shapes, also some rocks at many points. The sea there is crystal – clear and it has a unique light – blue color. However, it is cold, deep and usually has waves as the wider area is exposed to the winds. Consequently, we can say that it is not an appropriate beach for families with children. If you finally decide to visit it, you should be very careful because the beach does not have a lifeguard in order to help you when is needed.
Furthermore, before visiting Stomio you should know that it is a place without organization and development. This means that it does not offer the amenities of a known and overcrowded beach. Moreover, before going there, take care of water and food supplies and of course of a first – aid kit box for any case of an emergency.
What is more, Stomio beach is not the ideal choice for the visitors who love water sports as it does not have the necessary facilities. Nevertheless, you can swim with a mask and explore the amazing and rare sea bed of the area. An important detail about the beautiful beach is that it is a nudism and camping friendly one. As a result, it is a place where you can camp in order to live calm, summer moments. If you finally decide to spend there a day or more, all you have to do is to buy camping equipment.
